Townsville’s Crawley Blinds and Awnings is a Boutique Blind and Awning business that was established in the 1970’s by Neil and Elna Crawley, and is still operated by the Crawley family. Crawley Blinds first started manufacturing and installing Blinds, Screens and Awnings in Kirwan, we then moved our manufacturing arm over to a warehouse in Garbutt and kept our retail showroom in Kirwan. From there we moved to our current location at 3 Castlemaine Street Kirwan in 1988 to merge the manufacturing and retail together to meet the business’ expansion and manufacturing requirements.
Crawley Blinds and Awnings has accomplished so much over the last 40 years that has impacted the Awning and Blind industry nationwide. Neil Crawley was one of the main contributors of the engineering, designing and perfecting of the Colour Bonded TROPICOOL Steel Awnings along with Valectro Industries. These Awnings revolutionised the Awning industry with a product that was stronger and more durable. North Queensland FINALLY had an Awning range that was suited to withstand our tropical climate and weather. To this day our TROPICOOL Awning range is still the strongest range of Hooded and Louvred Awnings available on the market as it is the only Colour Bonded Awning range still made to the original engineering specifications.
Blind and Awning suppliers nationwide have consulted with the Crawley Family on many occasions over the past 40 years for input into the manufacturing of products, troubleshooting and for general advice due to our knowledge and experience. Neil Crawley’s wealth of knowledge and ability to work around almost anything has created the Crawley Blinds & Awnings Empire that it is today having been passed down to the family over the past 30 years.
Crawley Blinds & Awnings over the years has also contributed to the Townsville Community with donations to many organisations and was the very first Company to advertise on school buses.
